LED Strip Lighting

Light Emitting Diode (or LED) strip lighting is becoming increasingly popular when designing lighting plans for both Commercial and Residential projects. To put it simply, they are a group of LED’s attached across a flexible circuit board, they are also thin and flexible; meaning that they can practically fit anywhere. The versatility of LED strips also provides unlimited design opportunities, so you can let your imagination run wild when creating your dream space.

Why we love LED strip lighting?

One of the main reasons we love incorporating LED strip lighting into our projects is not only because they are aesthetically pleasing, but because they are also extremely functional no matter what the space.

Here we have put together a few tips and tricks as to where and how to add LED strip lighting to your next project:

Bedroom:  Your bedroom is your safe space, that room in the house that you want to relax in after a long day. LED Strip lighting can be used in a number of different areas of your bedroom, first up for just washing a wall with light: If you have a feature wall or artwork piece that you want to showcase, then installing the LED strip along the corner of the ceiling & wall will do the job!
Along the back of your bedhead is another great way of utilising LED strip, not only will a warm 3K light create ambience, but it will also double as a great reading light.  Lastly, arguably the most crucial lighting in any bedroom has to be in the wardrobe! Getting ready for a night out not only requires a great outfit, but the right light to make sure that chosen outfit is perfect! LED strip lighting along the back of your wardrobe does just that.

Bathroom:  LED strip lighting is perfect as a backlight behind your mirror, to light up your vanity or even your free-standing bathtub! The right light can give your bathroom a glowing, spa-like atmosphere; just make sure that your LED strip is IP rated correctly if you plan to install it close to water. If you aren’t sure about IP ratings, click here to read another one of our blogs dedicated to bathroom lighting, or get in touch with one of our experienced lighting consultants who will be happy to assist you.

Kitchen:  Kitchens are one of the most lived-in rooms of your home, where you want a mixture of both ambient lighting, task lighting and accent lighting. The best way to achieve this is with LED strip lighting. One of our go-to applications is always along cabinetry; this doubles as accent lighting if you want to showcase that brand-new splashback that just got installed, or if you just need some extra light over your stovetop while you’re cooking. We also won’t shy away from a gorgeous floating effect under a kitchen island, this can be achieved by running LED strip between the recess of the island and your floor.

Staircases: LED strip along either the handrails of a staircase or each step alone not only helps with safety at night but also adds a little extra to what might have otherwise been an overlooked space in the home.

Your Exterior: Landscape lighting is just as important as interior lighting and LED strip is no different, it can be used along pathways or stairs to guide you through your garden at night or be used simply just to enhance the architectural features of the building.

LED strip lighting ensures a seamless combination of style and functionality to any project, it can be recessed, surface mounted or angled and be customised to for the length of the space required.
