Founded in 2015 in Italy’s Marche region, Tooy is a young brand with an old soul. Behind it sits over 60 years of family manufacturing heritage, stretching back to the late 1950s when founder Valeria Giacomozzi’s grandfather, Basilio, began crafting iron lighting fixtures in a small artisan workshop in the Sibillini Mountains. That workshop eventually grew into Gibas, one of Italy’s most respected lighting manufacturers. Tooy is the next chapter of that story, one where deep artisanal know-how meets bold, contemporary design.
Everything Tooy creates is conceived, engineered and manufactured in-house at their facility. It is Italian-made in the truest sense, not just designed in Italy and produced elsewhere.
A Different Kind of Italian Lighting
What sets Tooy apart is the breadth of creative voices behind the range. Rather than relying on a single house designer, Tooy collaborates with a growing roster of independent talents, from Corrado Dotti (whose background includes Armani Casa) to Milan-based Studiopepe, Federica Biasi and Federico Peri. Each brings something distinct, yet the collection hangs together with a shared commitment to material honesty and refined proportion.
The result is a catalogue that spans mid-century warmth, Art Deco elegance, organic minimalism and architectural modularity, all without feeling scattered. There is a sophistication and restraint that runs through every piece.
Five Collections Worth Knowing
Nabila
Tooy’s signature collection, and for good reason. Nabila draws on 1950s influences with its double-sided borosilicate glass spheres, held in place by slender metal structures finished in brushed brass or black chrome. Available as chandeliers, pendants, table lamps, floor lamps and wall lights, it is endlessly versatile. A single Nabila pendant over a bedside works just as well as a 16-light chandelier anchoring a hotel lobby.
Nastro
Designed by Studiopepe, Nastro is built around a deceptively simple idea: smooth cylinders held between gently curving surfaces. What began as a standalone collection has since expanded into the Nastro System, a fully modular lighting system where rectangular, curved and cylindrical elements interconnect to wrap around architectural features like columns, corners and ceilings. Available in five colours including sage green and terracotta, with cylinder modules in brushed brass, ash wood or raw concrete. There is also the Nastro BIA, Tooy’s first portable rechargeable lamp, complete with USB-C charging and a gesture-activated dimmer.

Legier
For lovers of Murano glass, Legier is hard to pass up. Designed by Corrado Dotti, these pieces take their cue from classic Venetian perfume bottles, with elegant hand-blown glass spheres and a distinctive knurled brass ring detail. The table lamp version makes a beautiful accent on a console or sideboard, while the pendant and chandelier formats bring that same warmth to larger spaces.

Thula
Federica Biasi’s Thula collection is a modern reinterpretation of the classic chandelier, stripped back to its essentials. The minimalist aluminium structure is paired with organic accents in natural walnut, oak or quilted beige leather, creating something that feels both contemporary and warm. The wall light is a standout, offering sculptural presence without overwhelming a space.

Gordon
One of Tooy’s most expansive families, Gordon reimagines the conical diffuser with adjustable brushed brass elements.
